About Coptic calendar
The Coptic calendar is used by the Coptic Orthodox Church of Egypt and derives from the ancient Egyptian calendar. It has twelve months of 30 days plus a short 13th month.
Years are counted from the Era of the Martyrs (284 CE), the accession of Emperor Diocletian.
Egyptian farmers still use the Coptic months as a guide for sowing and harvest.
